Moving day......
All packed up, we are moving west to camp closer to Pictured Rocks National Park
Rob's first look at Lake Superior
And oh dear the black flies are here.....
After talking to the folks in Grand Marais we decided to go to Kingston Lake
Here is our 2nd camp, it was the perfect stop right on the Lake.
Dinner! Steak with veggies!
I was most EXCITED about our sweet potatoes!
They were delicious, I poked them, covered them in foil and threw them into the coils.
Dish wash station
Relax....nice view!
We couldn't let the coils go to waste!
Perfect!
The next day was rainy & so rescheduled our kayaking tour for the following day and headed out to explore Munising a little.
Lunch stop.....a traditional UP meal! Vernors (made in Detroit) which is a delicious Michigan made ginger ale along with a pasty. (click here to learn more about a pasty!)
Rob's first reaction, he is not as in love with them as I am but he thought they were hearty!
The inside.
Rob enjoyed the Apple pasty more =0)
So this is a funny story.....we were told by this older gentleman that we needed to see the view down this road. So we turned down the 2-track and drove the 5 miles down the super bumpy 2-track in which we went into the "woods" because of other cars. This was the view at the end....now it is pretty but....well we were thinking there would be more than trees =0) oh well it was fun!
That evening we decided to get the kayaks in the water!
Paddleboard/kayak, that is Rob in the background.
Me STANDING!! I have my wet suit on, it was a little chilly!
Supper time, and then turning in......big day tomorrow!
