Shoveling in a BIRTHDAY!!

We woke up on the morning of January 26th, Rob's birthday, at 7:30 to see that it was already snowing! The forecast called for between 15 to 18 inches that day and so the shoveling began. No time like the present to get shoveling!! We downed some coffee, Rob shoveled off our deck, then we bundled up and headed to Mom's to shovel her drive after.

A hour and a half later we were finished and went home for a birthday breakfast!!!

The snow had slowed down a bit so it was a great time to make the birthday boy his cake! It was exciting to make my first German Chocolate Cake.

FINISHED!!!

The snow had started again. Around 4:30 we decided we need to head back to Mom's because it was SNOWING again. We packed up the cake, ice cream, and supper and were on our way.
We arrived at Mom's and found that there was more snow than we thought. The Lord sent along 3 young boys who helped us SO MUCH! They were having a great time in the snow, building walls for people to drive around, you know just having fun! If it wasn't for them we would have shoveled for at least 2 more hours. Finally, around 6:30p we went inside they the boys went home. We were ALL completely wet. Rob and I threw our clothes in the dry and heated up the Sweet & Sour Chicken.
After we eat we suited up again and continued shoveling. As we went out we found it had snowed at least 2 1/2 inches in the 2 hours inside.

At 10:00pm, Mom stepped out to see how we were doing. We decided it was time for cake and ice cream!
He makes birthday's look WONDERFUL!!
It really was a so much fun to spend the day with Rob outside. I must confuse that he wanted to continue shoveling but my body couldn't move. He definitely out did me!! I thought it could wait for tomorrow.....and it did. The snow continued and was there in the morning.
